Who we are

We are located at 6125 Brown Road in Oxford, Ohio, on a property that was once home to the Doty Family. This piece of Oxford’s history is especially meaningful to me, as it allows me to continue the traditions of farming and family life in Southwestern Ohio with my own three children.

Before returning to my roots, I spent ten years in fine dining and trained as a Level 1 Sommelier. That experience not only paid for my art education, but also shaped how I make and experience food and flavor. The creativity, discipline, and respect for ingredients I gained in that world guide everything I create — and influence the way I think about nourishment, pairing, and balance every day.

As a mom, I understand the challenges of balancing family life with finding time for wholesome, homemade meals. That’s why I focus on creating foods that make breakfast, lunch, and dinner easier — and more enriching — for busy families. Everything I make is preservative-free, often uses local ingredients, and incorporates organic flour whenever possible. I dedicate care to perfecting everyday sandwich loaves, but I also love crafting fresh nut butters and flavorful jams and jellies to accompany them.

Serving local families also means honoring the heritage, traditions, recipes, and culture that have shaped this area. Both sides of my family moved to Ohio from Kentucky in the 1950s, seeking better opportunities than the hardships they faced in Appalachia. My grandparents established a home in Oxford, kept a large garden, and worked at Miami University for decades. My mom — and now partner in this venture — Marsha McIntosh, got her start washing dishes and waiting tables at the restaurant that once stood where the Century 21 building now sits, before spending many years in HR at Miami University.

Honoring this history comes through caring for people with foods like simple breads, pies, and yeast rolls, while also giving traditional recipes innovative updates that feel fresh and inspiring. This approach reflects the ingenuity, resourcefulness, and creativity that have always been a part of Appalachian culture.

Whether it’s a classic loaf or a new take on a family favorite, I’m committed to offering foods that are wholesome, delicious, and made with ingredients you can trust — and with availability you can rely on. I hope you experience the flavors of my Appalachian heritage and find joy in the simple, delicious food we make right here in our farmhouse kitchen. Thank you for supporting McIntosh’s Farmhouse, where every bite is made with love, tradition, and a story to tell.
